kaolin

Kaolin is a hydrous aluminum silicate, originating from the chemical weathering of a pegmatitic rock feldspar, formed 500 million years ago and mainly composed of kaolinite.

The term kaolin is derived from the Chinese word Kauling, also known as China Clay. Its discovery dates back to over 3,000 years ago, in the mountainous region of Jauchou Fu, China.
